If you can not see the videos on your home computer, you can go to the Computer Lab in O'Neill with a set of earphones and watch the videos and complete the assignment..

• Install Windows Media Player 10 (or 11, if you can't get 10) at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/10/default.aspx
  

• Many of the video tutorials in our online textbook require Windows Media Player, so be sure to update or install it if you have problems
  
• Our course textbook is online at http://web3dbooks.com/applications/discovering/
  
• View the video tutorial "A.1 Video Tutorial: Word Launching " textbook to see if your Windows Media Player is installed properly
  
• ZOOM (enlarge) our digital textbook window so that you can see the videos and the TEXT links that appear below them
  
• Use the links under that appear under the video window to view the videos directly in Windows Media Player if you can't see them in our textbook

Problems HEARING the videos?

If you can't hear the audio when watching the video be sure to TURN UP THE VOLUME for both your Windows XP computer (the computer volume itself) and also for the Windows Media Player. The computer's audio volume and Windows Media Player volume are two different volume controls: turn them BOTH up to hear the audio clearly. Here's how:

• Follow these instructions to learn how to turn up the volume on your Windows XP computer
  

• When viewing the videos (which uses Windows Media Player) look for the following volume slider control and turn it up (slide it to the right):

Section: 3.0 Word Processing with Microsoft Word Read the chapters in this section as needed to complete this week's assignment and those chapters which benefit your needs (for advanced readers). This week's assignment can be found in the Video Tutorials in Appendix A. You will have to wait until the videos load before you begin viewing. DO NOT upload to Yahoo GeoCities as the video illustrates. You will upload to Google Sites as we did last week.

Assignment:

• Create two documents using all the of steps in the video tutorial in Appendix A of the eBook. You will have to wait until the video loads until you begin viewing.

• DO NOT upload to Yahoo GeoCities as the video illustrates. You will upload to Google Sites as we did last week.
• Review the videos on Google Sites from Chapter 2 of the eBook as necessary.
• Upload both files (the original and the copy) using Google Sites that you created to your yahoo website (See Class #4 for instructions on how to do this). This is what we did in class last week.
  
• Email the list mt34801@yahoogroups.com the web address of all of your files.
  
• You can complete this online class and the assignment ANYTIME during the week (not just on Monday evening)
