*** PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CLASS STARTS WITH A SERIES OF ***
*** SELF-DIRECTED AND PEER-DIRECTED "LEARNING LADDER" ***
*** EXERCISES IN PREPARATION FOR THE LECTURE ***

NOTE: EXTRA time is alloted for each exercise below so that you can help your fellow team members and classmates when you finish before them.

1) If you do not remember the EXACT learning ladder process click here to listen (again) to an overview of the "Learning Ladder" while you follow the correct process when using the audio whiteboard to run the ladder. On other words, conduct a formal learning ladder and be sure that you follow the proper process (voice chat, PASS/FAIL based on 100% complete or not, etc). This will take EXACTLY 30 minutes to complete and will be your "ROLL CALL #1. Use the audio whiteboard to run the ladder and take "ROLL CALL #1" in the same way that you did last in our last class. In other words, run the ladder (do the learning ladder) and this will be roll call #1 for today's class. Be careful to follow the learning ladder process we covered in the last class; voice chat is required, along with PASS/FAIL status. Recall that it's either 100% PASS or you'll have to record a FAIL (PASS/FAIL is "all or nothing": you can't give a PASS unless what you are reviewing is 100% complete and accurate). When you run the ladder today REVIEW your classmates blogs to see that the blogs are up to date and accurate (that is, that the blog has all of the items required based on the work we've done during previous classes and as assignments for each class up until now). Before you start, read these related points (BELOW) for when you run the ladder. Having problems? Use audio chat to ask your fellow team members and classmates for assistance. [20 minutes]

TEAM NAMES: Be sure to group your names together according to your teams (that is, put your team name above your team member names -- everyone should be listed under their own team name).

ALL THE INFO: Look back at your learning ladder roll call screenshots from the last class to see the information that needs to be on your learning ladder tonight. Take a screenshot of tonight's ROLL CALL #1 and upload it to the Yahoo Group. Use "ROLL CALL 1, CLASS#4" as the title for this post. Having problems? Use audio chat to ask your fellow team members and classmates for assistance.

PASS/FAIL IS ALL OR NOTHING: When running the ladder recall that the status it's either 100% PASS or you'll have to record a FAIL. PASS/FAIL is "all or nothing": you can't give a PASS unless what you are reviewing is 100% complete and accurate.
FOR ALL LEARNING LADDERS: IS ONE OF YOUR TEAM MEMBERS NOT PRESENT AT THE TIME THAT YOU RUN THE LADDER? ADD THEIR NAME AND FOR THEIR BLOG LINK LIST THEM AS "NOT PRESENT". DO THIS FOR EVERY LEARNING LADDER (ROLL CALL) THAT THEY MISS.

2) Clear the audio whiteboard (delete everything on it) EXACTLY 30 minutes after tonight's class starts. Note that these "learning ladder" roll calls are short, swift and should not remain on the whiteboard for more than 30 minutes. Delete the ladder (clear the whiteboard) whiteboard 30 minutes after class has begun. Having problems? Use audio chat to ask your fellow team members and classmates for assistance. [1 minute]

3) Crop out everything except the actual ladder information from your screenshot (remove all the browser controls, the participants list, the text chat, etc. so that only the learning ladder itself is left) and upload the resulting image to Yahoo Group. The subject of your Yahoo post should be "ROLL CALL #1 CLASS #4. Having problems? Use audio chat to ask your fellow team members and classmates for assistance. [5 minutes]
